2026 – the year of the ‘Venture Van’

So many Whirlwind Changes in November 2025 – our beloved Toyota Hylux sold after 200 000 adventurous kilometres – Botswana, Namibia, West Coast and many more treasured experiences. De Hel, Swartburg and Sani Passes among others. Never a worry and maintenance requirements always in places we could manage at little to no inconvenience.

We have spent nearly seven years zig-zagging from one ‘Pet Friendly’ camping spot in and around Gauteng to another, collecting sunsets and memories; delighting in the ease and comfort our Tripper provided. Our Road-Tripper Trailer lived up to, and exceeded, our wildest expectations and Chris, Chris and Sanette are to be commended. A real work of art and a product to be well proud of.

Over the years we have trawled through the many gleaming Iveco Campers, magnificent Mercedes, MAN, Travelstar, Ducati and MobiLodge RV offerings – all showcasing luxurious travel options that have failed to tic our travel and aesthetic boxes at Outdoor Show after 4×4 show galore.

And now, we have finally succumbed to our dreams and with total confidence in both our ability to design a Van that meets our specific requirements and Chris, Chris and Sanette’s talents at making our dreams a reality. Our 10 star glamping lifestyle has been traded in for a dream – an RV Camper van!

We took ownership of our empty Peugeot panel van on 8th December and after a service took it to Phalaborwa for the festive break.

Lessons Learned:

The van does not leak

You can have 4 punctures in one tyre and still travel 400Km’s

Phalaborwa is a very hot town

Chicko, our pup, is too big to fit on the front seat and required a ‘throne’ of her own

We need windows in the back of the van and fans on the roof

A mattress on the floor is quite difficult to get out of..

Police stop this ‘taxi’ at all roadblock checks

You can excellerate while going uphill in 6th gear.

The difference between 120km/h and 140 is a momentary lapse in concentration

Traveling with open windows is a forgotten pleasure.

The emergency breaks work.

The ‘Venture Van’ can and will travel!

An exciting year lies before us!

PS. If we get a speeding fine, Cat was driving.
